Program Registration

Pre-School Camps

Age: 4-5 years
Time: 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $30 members / $35 non-members

Preschool camps are themed around a topic and include music and movement activities and play centers such as blocks, play dough, art, puppets, and dramatic play. 


Pete the Cat


Dates: Monday, June 25 & Tuesday, June 26
Join us as we read Pete the Cat stories and create some Pete the Cat inspired art! 

Junior Engineers

Dates: Monday, July 16 & Tuesday, July 17
Lean about the power of magnets and how catapults throw objects through the air!  We will be reading Rusty Rivets Magnet Power by Tex Huntley and Rusty Rivets Cupcake Catapult by Frank Berrios.


Curious about Science

Dates: Monday, August 6 & Tuesday, August 7
Explore your curiosity of science as we learn about the five senses and the science behind making ice cream.  We will be reading Curious George Discovers the Senses by H.A. Rey and Curious George Goes to an Ice Cream Shop by Alan J. Shalleck and Margret Rey. 

Kinder Camps


Ages:  Entering Kindergarten (5-6 years)
Time:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Cost:  $75 members / $85 non-members

Cat in the Hat Science Camp


Dates: Monday, June 4 through Friday, June 8
Explore the world of science with the Cat in the Hat!  Each day will be themed to a story from the Cat in the Hat Learning Library series with related hands-on activities. Themes will include:  life cycle of a butterfly, African wildlife, and agriculture!


Workshop Art


Dates: Monday, July 23 through Friday, July 27
Create masterpieces with all kinds of art mediums this week!  Our creativity will be inspired by incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math concepts into our projects!

Camp Discovery

Cost includes camp, snack and materials.  Payment must accompany registration. Registration deadline 1-week prior to camp. Camps fill quickly so register early. 72-hour cancellation required for refund.

Extreme Challenge Camp

Have fun exercising your brain and body with a variety of challenges. These challenges are designed to promote 21st Century skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and test the campers’ endurance and willpower. Winning challenges allows teams to gain points and become the extreme challenge champions. Are you up to the challenge?
Grades: Entering 1st – 5th
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Theater Camp: Broadway

Learn about the history of Broadway and entertain our audience by recreating some of it’s greatest moments. With so many great moments to choose from, who knows who might appear…Could be Mary Poppins, Simba, the Artful Dodger, the Grinch, or even PT Barnum??

Grades: Entering 2nd – 6th

Cardboard Construction Camp

This week we will explore the idea of using a simple material (cardboard) to make art, tools, costumes, and more! The only limits in this camp are your imagination and your media as we plan, build and problem solve throughout the week!

Grades: Entering 1st – 5th
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $140 museum members/ $160 non-members
Dates: Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13

Physics of Sports!

How does a pitcher curve a ball in midair? Why do golf balls have dimples? Why do ice skaters spin faster when pulling their arms in?  Learn the answers to these questions and more as we explore how concepts of force, motion, collisions, and air resistance can enhance your game.  We’ll use hands on experiments and demonstrations in the classroom, as well as short field trips to investigate the physics of sports!

Grades: Entering 4th – 8th  
Time: 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 - 4:00 p.m
Cost: $145 early registration by May 31st / $155 after May 31st (includes $20 to cover field trip fees)

STEAM with CeMaST

Explore new activities designed by staff from ISU’s Center for Math, Science and Technology (CeMaST) for a week filled with amazing activities to spark your imagination and curiosity.  Use STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to design and create your own projects.
